Rodent Pest Control

There are more than 4,000 types of mammals living worldwide, and over 1,500 of them are rodents. Mice, rats, porcupines, chipmunks, squirrels, groundhogs, and beavers are all rodents. Despite that they vary wildly in appearance, behaviors, and nesting sites, all of them have continuously growing front incisors.
Mice and rats are the types of rodents most likely to invade our Florida homes and businesses. Mice and rats are prolific breeders and are challenging to control and eliminate from our properties. The Norway rat, roof rat, and house mouse commonly invade residential and commercial properties.

Rodents carry bacteria and pathogens on their legs and body and in their saliva, urine, and excrement that can contaminate food and surfaces. The four-legged, furry pests can spread rat-bite fever, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, salmonellosis, leptospirosis, and hantavirus.

Another serious problem with rodents living in our homes is that their constant chewing leads to structural damage and can trigger short circuits, fires, and water leaks. Rodents chew on and damage things like drywall, flooring, wires, pipes, furniture, rugs, clothing, books, and boxes.

Rodents will take advantage and move onto any property that offers them food, water, shelter, and safety.

You mainly find Norway rats outdoors, nesting in burrows under garbage piles, woodpiles, concrete slabs, and foundations. These rats have heavy stocky bodies and typically stay at ground level. Roof rats live together in colonies and prefer to nest up off the ground; they are incredibly agile and are excellent climbers. They live in trees (loving fruit trees), voids along rooflines, attics, and above ceilings. As their name describes, house mice are regularly found living in homes but do nest outside as well. Inside or out, house mice prefer to nest in secluded or cluttered areas that keep them out of view. Inside of our Florida homes, rodents like mice and rats nest in crawl spaces, wall voids, basements, attics, the backs of cabinets, and upholstered furniture.
